While Becky's hip surgery has been just short of tragic, Jacob did enjoy that we got to spend two weeks in Hartford helping out around the house and cursing the mall with his grandma on wheels:
While there I swear he grew an inch, learned where his belly button, nose and ears were, learned to say "No", "Elmo", and "'Amma" (Grandma), learned how to unzip and take off his jackets, and learned the sign for cookie and water. What?! This age is fabulous except for the part where he's learned to throw temper tantrums when he wants what he can't have and is also cutting molars; and arduous process at best.
He decided on his own that he liked to wear his Elmo bibs as a cape and breastplate:
Happy to see Papa after 10 days away:
Exhausted after two weeks away:
When we got out of the car on the way home, I was surprised that he ran to the door, once inside, ran to the elevator and tried to push the button, once out of the elevator he ran to our front door. When I pulled out my keys he started to dance and when I unlocked the door he pushed past me to get to his toys. I wish I could have filmed it. I had no idea he'd missed home so much and I had no idea he knew he's as observant as he is.
