It took two tries, but we got the kid hooked on calamari, or as he calls it, “popcorn.”

First was in May at Carmines. We gave him the round ones but he didn’t like them and the ones with legs he thought kept calling spiders (“itsy bits”). He was more interested in the focaccia bread (“pizza”) and distracted by the pigeon that kept walking underneath our table.


Then this week we tried it again while at Dean’s and for some reason he was interested in the ones with legs, eating them off, one by one, and then handing me the middle part before asking for more.



He quit eating broccoli though.
