special delivery

A few weeks back Pop and I had the following exchange over Blackberry Messenger:

Pop: Do you like panda or giraffe?
Me: Giraffe.
Pop: Giraffe or zebra?
Me: Giraffe.
Pop: Giraffe or monkey?
Me: Oh. Um. Monkey but only if it’s cuter than the giraffe.
Pop: Ok.

Last night a large box was delivered to the apartment, addressed to Jacob Petersen. I opened it to find a nearly 5 foot tall stuffed giraffe inside.

It is ridiculous and beautiful and lifelike and totally cool.

If we were to have a nursery it would apparently be jungle themed. We looked up Cassi and Nic’s safari pictures to see how real it actually is and we were impressed by how much it’s shape and face and colors were the same as in their pictures. I’m glad I picked giraffe since he’s tall and doesn’t take up too much space, as far as unnecessary items go; imagine if I’d said zebra!

I think he got the idea from Father of the Bride II since Fraank put a giraffe in the Baby Suite, but there’s no real telling what his thought process was. :o)

We’re leaving him in this wrapping since we want him to be protected when we move so here’s a picture of the internet:

Now just trying to pick a name for him.
