Weird to think that yesterday was Jacob’s original due date but instead he is going to be three weeks old tomorrow. He can’t do a whole lot just yet but he’s kind of an expert at having the hiccups, and looking bewildered while he has them.
On Friday we went on a date while Mom stayed home with Jacob. We caught a bus to Shake Shack where the burgers were cooked to perfection, the fries were crispy and salty and the custard shakes were deliciously decadent. My concrete was chocolate with chocolate covered pretzels, peanut butter and marshmallow cream and Jon's was chocolate with fudge and cookie dough. What’s more, there was no line and we found a seat as soon as we paid. This place is only about 10 blocks away but I’d been missing it for eight weeks. Then we walked down to Lincoln Center and watched (500) Days of Summer and walked back home. Pretty much a fabulous evening in all its normalness. Jacob did terrific without us for a few hours; I was definitely more emotional about it than he was. :o) The company was calming, the food was fabulous, the movie was good, and the soundtrack was terrific.

Yay for date nights and the Shake Shack! Glad all survived the separation. He is adorable, and I'm so glad that I got to meet him and see you! Love your mom too!!
