Here I go:
Mom dressed Jacob one day and it made me laugh because the knee socks make me think of Oliver Twist (this picture is for you Nicolette):
This week we met Jon for lunch in Midtown one afternoon and Jacob got his first taste of Times Square. He was so enthralled that he slept right through it. There was some celebrity interview thing going on near the red steps but we couldn’t see through all the cameras and lights to see who was there. We ate at Chipotle and it was great. Neither of us had eaten there in eight weeks, and considering we both had Chipotle for lunch at least once a week, this was way past due. We showed mom Jon’s new office and then Mom and I went to Magnolia Bakery, initially for cupcakes, but once there she got a lemon bar and I got a peanut butter icebox pie. Delish. So far Magnolia has not disappointed. So take that Buttercup (dry cupcakes both times I’ve given the place a chance). Now all that’s left in my “Things I want to ear after the diabetes is gone” list is a Magnolia cupcake and fresh OJ from Jamba Juice; I took care of that list quickly. All told we were out and about for nearly three hours and the little tyke didn’t start to cry until we were in the elevator on the way home. His contentment is one of our favorite qualities.
The fam in midtown:
He likes to take baths and we think his favorite part is having his hair washed. But then, who doesn’t like a head massage?
We’ve gone out for short walks, after which I spend the rest of the day vowing not to leave the house for a week. I usually go out again the next day, although I have spent several days in a row not leaving the house, and not complaining about it. Stroller picture for Pop (Thank you and we love it!) Clearly, Jon loves having his picture taken, and also yes, we are taking a page from Michael Jackson's life by covering our kid with a blanket... :
I discovered the new Fox show, Glee and I think it’s great fun.
I came across the old Fox show Bones, and I think the chemistry is great and the stores are amusing.
I told Jon my plan to read to Jacob: I’m going to read the books I am reading or want to read anyway, From Beruit to Jerusalem, War Child, Bottom Billion, Founding Brothers, The Wedding Girl, and he approves. I thought he might think it was weird, but he said as long as I don’t get sucked into Oprah or have the TV on all day, he thinks it’s great.
I guess that’s all I can think of that is new with us for now.
Oh, and my brother thinks I should make the blog private, so while I’m considering it, email me or comment with your email address and I’ll add you to the list – even if you’re a mostly anonymous blog reader, just let me know and you’ll be included.

Ooh, add me to your private blog. :) justmecassi@gmail.com.
Your little family is so cute! I can't wait to meet Jacob.
I am also loving Glee!
Enjoy going out with him now while he is little and sleepy. It only gets harder the older they get. The more you do it, the easier it gets. Of course, add me to your blog if you go private.
The sling is super cute! I'm glad it worked out. Yay for Magnolia. Rich got coconut cake when we were there, and that was delicious too. And you're right, the socks are great.
LOVING the pictures.....makes me feel a little like I am there....which is the best I can do right now. Definitely add me to your cool list on the blog. jamiewhatcott@gmail.com
Would love to keep up with you guys when you go private!
Just know that I did touch the blanket Becky sent up, so my love is there with you! (It sounds creepy, but I assure you it's not!)
