an april catch up post

Jon really liked Sydney. He actually said if he ever got an offer to take a job there he’d go. Who are you and what did you do with my husband? He doesn’t want to write the post so here are the vague details of his trip. 7 hours to LA and then 15 to Sydney on Quantas. Leg room was same as a domestic flight, but they had 11 inch TV screens which enabled him to watch hmm maybe seven hours of Curb your Enthusiasm, Fantastic Mr. Fox and It’s Complicated, Gladsiator, Thank you America. He went to Manly and Bondi beaches, took a bus tour of Sydney, and went to a concert at the Sydney Opera house. He was suprised to find out that the "Hungry Jacks" restaurant that all the Indians raved about was really just a Burger King. He also ate at McDonalds a few times. Because he can’t resist the call of the McNugget. He learned the hard way that Moutain Dew doesn’t have caffeine in Australia but a week away from the hard stuff didn’t cure him of his addiction; first thing he did at the LA airport was pick up a cold one.

The kiddo’s got two teeth, one top and one bottom, with the other two on the way. He’s whiney, but not unreasonably so.

The end of April was our four year anniversary. We had plans to leave J w a friend and go to this really good stake place called Del Frisco's, but J got sick and he’s teething so it just didn’t seem like a good idea to leave him. Bummer. Not so much because of the lack of celebration, but because I ended up making steak at home and it just doesn’t measure up when you’re anticipating Del Frisco's all day, ya dig? We’ll try and go later this month. Jon did bring home Godiva chocolate so the day wasn’t all lost.
With our anniversary, our birthdays and now Mother’s and Father’s days all within a matter of weeks we usually just celebrate once for all of it. One year we celebrated everything separately and it was a little much.
