london was freezing

We (I) packed for the mid-forties but it was below freezing most of the time. The first thing we did was go buy scarves, gloves and sweaters, but it didn't really solve the problem that I'd only packed skirts and dresses. Pretty much everyday I wore all of my clothes. And was still freezing.

We liked London. I liked sleeping through the night for the first time in nearly two years. Jon liked that he didn't have to work. At least not very much. The food was lackluster. You could tell we are New Yorkers because we ate pizza three times. Each time was a massive disappointment. How do you mess up pizza? I will tell you how. You serve large slices of deli ham and rings of pineapple and call it a tropical pizza. Gross. We even went to Pizza Hut one night in our attempt to find a decent slice, but we didn't make it through much of that pizza either.

Why am I writing about pizza in this post?

We saw the sights, took pictures in front of old buildings, went to museums, wandered around neighborhoods, got lost a lot, were amazed by how large leaves were, shopped at the Gap, ate fish and chips, missed our baby, cried when we Skyped and talked on the phone with him (I may have been the only one crying), saw Les Miserables (thanks Mom and Pop), walked and took buses to avoid the tube strike, and spent a wonderful afternoon sharing Thanksgiving dinner with our friends Shawn and Annie.

We'd like to go back.
