we're country once a year

For three of the past four January's that we've been here we've gone to watch pro bull riding at Madison Square Garden. This year we bought tickets up by the shoots in the hopes that Jacob would be able to see a little and we'd be able to stay for at least half of the event. He was scared of the pyrotechnics at the start of the show, but other than that he seemed to enjoy himself, and by the half way mark he was pointing out bulls as they bucked and clapping with the crowd. We ended up staying the entire time and he fell asleep as soon as we got home at 11:30. We always want to invite friends but no one else wants to keep their kids out that late. Go figure.

It's cool to see how popular the event has become since it first came four years ago. Ticket prices have gone up and there were definitely more families in attendance. The one draw back to going every year is that the clown mc guy tells the same jokes about cowboys in NYC every time so that's getting old, but it's fun that we are starting to recognize some of the cowboys and bulls, so it's still on the to do list for next January.
