The Hermes Men’s Fall/Winter preview came in the Times last week. The booklet was entitled “Portraits and Objects” and the collection was described on the first page as follows:
“The Lexicon of Men
Simplicity
A cut. A line. A look.
Simple, therefore indivisible.
Practicality
The obvious beauty of things that serve a purpose.
Instruments? Trusted objects.
Precision
The detail that defines the whole.
Luxury
The feel of material.
The enthusiasm of color.
Integrity
The core values.
Lightness
Unexpected. Imagination.
A touch of Style. The flash of wit.
The instinct of the moment.”
Enthusiasm of color. The flash of wit. Sometimes I really like words.
